Apparently
today is National Pancake Day… I’m not sure if I believe this, as I’m pretty
sure this actually takes place sometime before Easter.
Anyway,
pancakes are “a flat cake, often
thin, flat, and round, prepared from a starch-based batter and cooked on a hot
surface such as griddle or frying pan.” There are various ways to serve them,
such as topped with fresh fruit or loaded with local maple syrup! If you wanna
be really crazy when you get yer pancake on, you can have a McGriddle from
McDonald’s! It’s basically a KFC Double Down, only with pancakes, and WAY more
awesome. Plus, the pancakes have bits of maple syrup built into them! What I
wouldn’t give to have one of those right now!
Anyway, no matter how you enjoy them, I hope
you get to have some pancakes today! If you’re in Nova Scotia, why not pick up
some Valley Flax pancake mix – it’s even Gluten Free!
