National Smile Month

Well folks, for this one, we can pretty much revert back to National Power of A Smile Day!
Actually, it appears as though we may be taking a brief detour from the non-health related category. National Smile Month, or what was formerly known as National Smile Week, is a British campaign to get people to focus on their dental health. The transition from Week to Month took place in 2006, after the campaign gained overwhelming popularity. In 2009, this Monthly celebration crossed the big pond, and began catching on in parts of the United States and Canada. The British Dental Health Foundation has set three main goals, or key messages, to focus on throughout the month:
  • Brush your teeth for two minutes twice a day using a fluoride toothpaste.
  • Cut down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks.
  • Visit the dentist regularly, as often as they recommend.
Maintaining good dental health is important to maintaining good healthy bodies, so, I’d recommend you participate in this one! And, don’t forget to smile!
