National Spaghetti Day

Today is National Spaghetti Day! It’s messy and fun, and can be made in many variations. For those of you who might not know, spaghetti is a long, thin type of pasta. Like, many types of pasta, it is made from flour, water, and durum semolina. It is believed that this variety of pasta was created in the 12th Century. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the “Largest Bowl of Spaghetti” was set in March of 2010 in (you guessed it!), the United States. This “bowl “ was actually a 4 000 gallon swimming pool, which was filled with spaghetti and 10 gallons of tomato sauce!

While this might not be a swimming pool of spaghetti, it is a yummy bowl covered in my Mom's homemade spaghetti sauce! Thanks, Mom!
