Happy National Whipped Cream Day!
Ah, this heavenly, fluffed cream gives a magical touch to many delicious
treats. Did you know that whipped cream became popular in the 16th century?
Traditionally, it is made from cream, but is sometimes accented with a little
sugar and/or vanilla. However, this light in density, but highly caloric indulgence
can be purchased in a variety of forms, from powder, to carton, to frozen tub,
and even from an aerosol can! So celebrate this special day, by consuming
copious amounts of this wonderful dairy delight! And, since it’s a “holiday,”
calories don’t count! ...right?
For more information on whipping
cream please see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whipped_cream
or visit a local dairy aisle near you!
*Note: the consumption of copious
amounts of whipped cream does actually lead to an intake of calories. If
excessive weight is gained due to the activities of this “holiday” please see
January 2nd’s entry on Personal Trainer Awareness.
