Today is National
Truffles Day! Truffles are “one of a type of subterranean mushroom, or the fruiting body of
such a mushroom.” There are actually hundreds of varieties of truffles, many of
which are used for cooking (and are quite expensive!).
Fun Truffle
Fact: Pigs, or Truffle Hogs search for the truffles, although more recently
dogs have be trained to do this as well.
Truffles have
never really been a personal favourite of mine, but they are something to try!
