National Save a Rhino Day

Happy National Save a Rhino Day, everyone! Today is meant to bring awareness to the mass hunting of several rhino species. Rhinos, or rhinoceros’, are large herbivores that are native to Africa and parts of Asia. They possess horns, which are the reason they are targeted for high-profits in the black market. Because of this certain species are nearing extinction, such as the white rhino. One statistic indicates that in a National Park in South Africa 330 rhinos were killed in 2010, which unfortunately rose to 668 in 2012!

Fun Rhino Fact: Some species, such as both of the African rhinos, have two horns, while others, such as the Indian rhino, only have one!

How do you feel about rhinos? Let us know by clicking here to participate in today’s poll!
