National Homemade Bread Day

Today is National Homemade Bread Day! Is there anything better?

I am a proud 4th generation bread maker. I don’t use a bread machine, nor do I think that is considered making it homemade. Not only do you get the benefits of not consuming all those preservatives, but also making your own bread is a great way to relieve stress. The kneading especially helps you punch out that negative energy. Making your own bread, I believe, is also the perfect study activity. Why, you ask? Well, you mix your ingredients and then let it raise for 45 minutes to an hour. Then you knead it again, and let it raise another 45 minutes to an hour before putting it in the oven to bake. The bread bakes for 30 -45 minutes and then BAM! You’ve got a tasty loaf or two of bread AND you wrote that essay that’s been stressing you out! Plus you have the incredible scent of the bread baking! The whole process is pretty wonderful!

Making bread is pretty easy, however as noted already, it can be time consuming. We all seem to think we have no time to do these things but I beg to differ - MAKE the time! There are hundreds of recipes online. Pick one and make it happen. Before you do, vote on the Daily Poll please!
