National Rubber Eraser Day


Woohoo! It’s National Rubber Eraser Day! 

Rubber erasers are these nifty little objects that help to remove pencil errors. In Canada and the US they are known as “erasers,” while in other areas of the world they are called “rubbers.” Erasers are traditionally made out of a synthetic rubber, although they have also been known to be made from vinyl, plastic, and even soy! Joseph Priestley invented the first rubber eraser in 1770, from vegetable gum. They can come in many shapes, sizes and forms such as:
