National Artichoke Hearts Day

Happy National Artichoke Hearts Day!

Artichokes are a member of the thistle family! They originated from the Mediterranean. “The edible portions of the buds consist primarily of the fleshy lower portions of the involucral bracts and the base, known as the "heart."” Artichokes can be used for a variety of purposes, such as for cooking, tea, liqueur and medical uses. The have lots of good stuffs in them, like vitamins, protein, and (you guessed it!) my personal fave – dietary fibre!

May you all have a delightful day! Okie dokie, artichokie?
