Monkeys
are a type of “primate of the Haplorrhini suborder and simian infraorder, either an
Old World monkey or a New World monkey, but excluding apes (including humans).”
Another way to describe a monkey is: cute cuddly-looking animal that can be
quite entertaining?! Or, is that just my understanding of Curious George?

There are approximately 260 known species of monkey living
today. They are considered to be highly intelligent, unlike us apes! Monkeys
can be distinguished from apes by their tail, as in they have them! Monkeys
outside of their natural habitats are sometimes found as family pets, but most
often are used in the laboratory setting, as testers for various
pharmaceuticals or beauty products. This, understandably, creates quite a bit
of controversy! So, today is to bring awareness to this unfortunate occurrence.
