Happy National Pumpkin Pie Day! Pumpkin pie is “a traditional sweet dessert, often eaten during the fall and early winter, especially for Thanksgiving and Christmas in the United States and Canada.”
Pumpkin pie is a North American creation, that, I’m pretty sure many are thankful for! If you can imagine though, pumpkin pie has been recorded as far back as 7000-5500 BCE! During the 1800s however, this tasty dessert began finding its way into English cookbooks, and has since become a family favourite in many parts of the world!

Did you know that the largest recorded was made in 2010 in a town in Ohio? It weighed a whooping 3699 lbs, and was 20 feet in diameter! Yikes! Apparently it took “1,212 pounds of canned pumpkin, 109 gallons of evaporated milk, 2,796 eggs, 7 pounds of salt, 14.5 pounds of cinnamon, and 525 pounds of sugar” to make! That wouldn’t have been a cheap endeavor! Anyway, that’s all I’ve got, so, why not vote on the Daily Poll?!
