National Thank You Note Day/National Candy Cane Day

It's National Thank You Note Day!

Okay, so while we may have had International Thank You Day much earlier in the year, the significance of the “dual day” is that, you’ve probably just been given a ton of gifts, depending on your beliefs. Those who were kind enough to give you something deserve to be thanked. So get out a pen and paper (old C-mas cards work, as well!) and write a thank you or two! Who knows, this simple little gesture might garnish you even bigger returns next year!

Today also marks National Candy Cane Day!

Candy canes are “cane-shaped hard candy stick associated with Christmas.” These delightful cane’s are traditionally found in red and white, with a peppermint flavour, although now they can be purchased in a variety of flavours and colours!

Candy canes originate from Germany in the late 1700s, where a choral conductor gave the rowdy children candy sticks to for lack of a better term “shut them up.” Since then, they have become a household staple during the holiday season! What’s your favourite? Tell us by voting on the Daily Poll!
